Great value! I grew up in Sparwood but my family has since left so we have started a tradition of going back and camping there every year for Coal Miner Days. The spots are well set up and very private. Free firewood is almost unheard of these days and they not only provide it, but chop it for you as well! Both the bathroom/shower houses are spacious and the showers are hot and free (also unheard of in many other campgrounds I have stayed in.) The area is closed off enough that my friends let their kids bike around the loop for hours and they had a blast doing that and enjoying the park. We stay in sites on the golf course side so can't comment on the highway noise, but in general, we have found the campground to be nice and quiet. I have camped many, many places in Canada and the US and can honestly say this one in my own hometown is my favorite. We'll be booking our sites for next year soon!
